Affiliated Faculty
Center projects are designed to bring faculty together from a variety of disciplines for conversation and collaboration that lead to publications, collaborative grants, curricular development and community partnerships. Faculty affiliates are members of the ASU faculty who either participate in research projects of the Center, conduct independent research, or teach classes on core issues significant to the study of religion and conflict. Faculty interested in becoming an affiliate can email the center for more information.
Seminars & Working Groups
Faculty seminars and working groups supported by the Center are designed to facilitate connections, conversations, and collaborations on issues related to religion and conflict that cross disciplinary and departmental lines. Interdisciplinary seminars consist of twelve to twenty faculty members who meet monthly for discussion of common texts, methodological and theoretical issues that cross disciplinary boundaries, potential collaborative research projects, and works in progress. Working groups, some of which have emerged out of the interdisciplinary seminars, are focused on more specific projects and related grant development.
Grants and Funding Oportunities
The Center is committed to fostering work that is collaborative, interdisciplinary, and comparative. The Center has established a seed grant program to stimulate and support collaborative research projects that advance the Center’s mission. This page also provides links to other internal and external research funding opportunities.
Faculty Research Assistance
As part of the Center's mission to serve as a research hub that fosters exchange and collaboration across the university, the undergraduate research fellows program focuses on providing a rich interdisciplinary atmosphere for student development. Students accepted into the program provide research assistance to faculty members' current research projects involving religion and conflict. Faculty that are interested in working with an undergraduate fellow can contact Carolyn Forbes, Assistant Director, for more information.
